The Government will invite coaches from India and abroad to impart quality training to selected players for Mission Olympics-2020. All required sports kits and equipments will also be mobilised.
This was informed by Director Sports Shailendra Shrivastava, while presiding over a meeting held in connection with Mission Olympics-2020 here on Tuesday. Shrivastava said players’ better performances have given a new dimension to the State in national games.
Describing Mission Olympics 2020 project as important, he said its preparation should be started right now. He asked coaches to tour districts of the State and selected best players. Besides, maximum number of sports competitions should be held to ensure better results. Effective efforts should be made to ensure that players of the state make their presence felt strongly in Asiad and Commonwealth Games and create history. Shrivastava invited suggestions from officer-bearers of sports federations regarding Mission Olympics-2020 saying that important suggestions will be implemented promptly. State Government’s wish will be fulfilled through integrated efforts. At the meeting, in-depth discussions were held on better coaching and necessary facilities to players under Mission Olympics-2020.
