In the larger interest of the government employees, pensioners and daily wages employees, a decision to give salaries, pension and remuneration before Deepwali was taken by the state government.

According to the information received from the Department of Finance, in compliance to the decision taken two days before the Deepawali, salaries have already been paid to about 2.90 lakh employees. Process to give payment to 1.30 lakh employees is underway.

Out of 60,000 contingency employees, payment has been made to about 32,000. The remaining is under process.

Payment to the pensioners is being deposited in their bank accounts.

Despite slow speed of the Central Server of Directorate of Treasury and Accounts due to the load of work in the limited period, salaries of over 80 percent have already been paid. It is to be mentioned that normally five working days time is fixed for the salary withdrawal procedure. Salary bills are generated by the concerned offices and forwarded it to the treasuries. After the verification by the treasury, payments are transferred online in the bank accounts of the employees. The Directorate of Treasury and Accounts has entrusted the responsibility to the senior officers for constant monitoring of this work.
