Govt targeted for accepting silly ABVP demands, caning SC/STs

National Scheduled Caste and Tribe Youth Association State in-charge Toran Singh Ahirwar has criticised the State Government for cane-charging the association members recently and later accepting the demands of the ABVP.

While talking to media persons here on Monday, Ahirwar said that the association members were demanding to fill the vacant backlog posts, but they were cane-charged. However, the demands of the ABVP that are irrelevant and meaningless for the future of the youth, were accepted, he alleged.

He further said that Higher Education Minister Jaibhan Singh Pawaiya himself went at the agitation site of the ABVP and accepted the demands. This depicts the discriminative policies of the state government, he added.

Singh said, “We have submitted the memorandum regarding the inhuman action of the police to the Governor, Chief Minister, DGP and the Chief Secretary on September 22 but still there is no progress in the case.”

Singh added that the association has also submitted a memorandum to the Human Rights Commission. Commission has assured investigation in the case. The association would initiate an agitation by November 2016, if the demands of the association are not unfulfilled.

Association’s State General Secretary Ram Singh Rasoniya said that the Government is trying to suppress the voice of the association. The government should take strict action against the responsible officers and FIR should be registered under SC-ST act against the police administration.

Rasoniya demanded that the one lakh backlog posts should be filled immediately and recruitment should be done on the basis of the merit list.
