The office-bearers of Right to Education Forum have on Friday alleged that Government schools of the country are being sold out to the business house.
While talking to mediapersons, they stated that one voluntary organisation is supporting the Government in the process.
With this, around 11,000 schools in Karnataka, 1,100 school in Andhra Pradesh and other States, the Government schools have been sold out by inviting
tenders.
The Press conference was addressed by educationist Anil Sadgopal (Member, Presidium, All India Forum for Right to Education), Abdul Jabbar (Bhopal Gas Peedit Mahila Udyog Sangathan), Jyotsana Milan (Senior Writer), GS Asival (Senior Trade Union leader) Ashish Struggle (All India Students Federation), Vijay Kumar (RYFI) and others.
Anil Sadgopal said, "It is an irony that NGOs, which are supported by the same international capital that aim to destroy the Government school system of our country, are calling for betterment of the Government school system!
In this scenario, it's obvious for the people of Madhya Pradesh to probe the real objective of these NGOs and their actual game plan."
He further stated that despite these entrenched features of RTE Act that have facilitated decline of Government schools system, the NGOs demand its 'proper implementation'.
"WHYIJ Is it so because the children of these NGO-wallahs no more study in these Government schoolsIJ Or is it because of the fact that these NGOs are nourished by the same international capital that has ensured destruction of Government school system in last 25 years and turned it into a huge market for private profit," he asked.
