Surprisingly, a Government primary school, which is in the densely populated area, hardly 50 feet from the Dhar Naka Pithmapur four-lane in Gaikwad village under Mhowgaon municipality, has no electric and drinking water facility.
The students have to bring drinking water from the home and in the rainy and winter seasons, when the sunlight is low, the students are unable to study due to the darkness in the classrooms and in the summer season, in absence of fans, students feel uncomfortable and sometimes, fall sick as there is no electricity connection in the school.
The worst part is that students could not get drinking water though the school has got the boring, but due to the absence of electricity, the boring is of no use. Few years back, the Government had spent lakhs of rupees for the construction of this new school building and boring, but due to the negligence of the education department officers, the school has no electricity connection.
When contacted, the Indore district education officer Kishore Shinde expressed ignorance about the situation. later, after contacting Mhow education officer Naresh Verma, Shinde instructed him to take necessary actions towards providing electricity connection in the school. In absence of water, the students face problems in having mid-day meal without washing their hands. Besides, they are unable to use the toilets.
