Can anybody believe that a Chief Minister would talk of searching hidden treasures, that too in publicIJ The reply must be a big No! But it was unbelievable on Monday when Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, while addressing a function organised on the occasion of foundation stone laying ceremony of Kamlapati Arch Bridge, said that modern technology would be used to unearth the ‘hidden treasure of Kamalpati’, said to be buried under the second Burj (tower) in the upper lake.
Chouhan said, “Nowadays, modern technology is available and we would use it to explore not only the historical heritage of Rani Kamlapati Palace that is drowned in water but would also use the modern technology to unearth the hidden treasure said to be hidden beneath the second Burj in the upper lake where we are planning to erect the statue of Queen Kampalpati.”
Chouhan further said divers laced with modern technology would be sent in the water to trace the hidden treasure in upper lake. Besides, there is said to be a treadmill sort of thing in the drowned palace that was used to supply water in the city, efforts would be made to unearth it and restore that technology, he added.
Over the ever-growing traffic volume in the city, the Chief Minister said the State Government would never let conditions like New Delhi which led to implementation of disputed odd-even scheme. “We would construct so many bridges and flyovers in the city that the traffic would never get congested at any point,” he announced.
However, in the same stance Chouhan disclosed that he himself got stuck up in the traffic for about 10 minutes at VIP road on Sunday night.
Earlier, Bhopal Mayor Alok Sharma in his address said, “When we look in the water from above the palace portion that is out of water there seems temples and some big houses, this should be explored using modern technology and it is time we should find out that what all is hidden in the deep waters of lower lake where most of the Kamlapati Palace is submerged.”
Sharma demanded from the Chief Minister to provide assistance in unearthing the secrets of the submerged palace so that the sayings and stories related to the palace since ages could be verified.
