Govt misusing tribal funds: Ajay Singh

Published on:

State Congress has accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Government of grossly misusing the large amount of funds allocated by the Centre for welfare of the tribal population of the state.

“The amount that has been provided to the State by Central Government is historical and at the same time, the misuse of that amount by BJP Government here is also historical. If the Government had properly utilised the funds, the State would have considerably developed,” alleged leader of Opposition Ajay Singh on Friday.

Singh was speaking at a rally organised in Sidhi on the second day of the ‘parivartan Yatra’. He was also accompanied at the rally by Congress State President Kantilal Bhuria.

Targeting the BJP Government, Singh said, “Congress had introduced a no-confidence motion in the State Assembly presenting facts about the misuse of money. We had asked the BJP Government to reply the questions that we had raised. But it failed to do so. That is why the Congress is reaching to the people of the State. Now the people will give a suitable reply to BJP in the coming elections.”

Addressing the rally, Bhuria said that the BJP Government had ruthlessly exploited the tribals and dalits of the state. He also alleged that Sidhi MlA Kedarnath Shukla has amassed large amount of wealth by illegal methods.

“The BJP legislator has illegally occupied more than 200 acres of lands belonging to the tribals,” he alleged, adding that if the Congress is elected to power, it will not only return all the land to the tribals but would also send Shukla behind the bars.

Bhuria urged the Congress workers to mobilize public opinion against the misrule of BJP in the state.
