Govt inflating the number, says Opp

The campaign of plantation worth Rs 700 crore would fail as experts claim that the plants used for plantation are not useful for river conservation and would not survive for more than six months, said leader of Opposition in the State Assembly Ajay Singh.

Singh alleged that the State Government gained expertise in inflating the numbers and the world record eyed by plantation is controversial but it would prove world record of corruption.

Guava, Blackberry, Custard Apple, Carissa, Gooseberry, lemon, Sapodilla, Pomegranate and other plants which have provided by Rural Development Department are not useful in river conservation.

He said that according to the Government 10 lakh people have registered for plantation and a participant would sow 60 plants in 65.00 minutes and one plant would require around 10 minutes so it would require 11 hours to sow 60 plants which is not possible.

The Chief Minister’s celebration due to obstinate attitude would cost the State crores of rupees which the people would not accept and would forgive. It was found that several teams in the field were not provided with the target number of plants

For branding Chief Minister would spend Rs 860 crore which would be spent for maintaining 58 lakh plants for the next 5 years but when the plants are not of required standard they would wither and vanish within next 6 months after which the maintenance amount would be spent where would be a big question.

‘Vriksh Mitra’(person who would take care of plant) who have been made under the campaign are BJP party workers and RSS pracharak and this arrangement has been made to benefit them financially and the money which is given as labour for development works would be misused.
