A joint meeting of the Madhya Pradesh Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)’s local body election campaign committee and State office-bearers was held here on Sunday at the party State headquarters on Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Campus.
Party vice-president and State organisational in-charge Vinay Sahasrabuddhe, Union Minister Narendra Singh Tomar, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, State president and MP Nandkumar Singh Chouhan and other senior leaders of the party were present on the occasion.
Sahasrabuddhe, addressing the party leaders on the occasion, said, “Go to the masses with the goodwill of developmental works done in the field of urban administration by the BJP Government of the State to ensure party candidates victory in the local self body elections.”
Sahasrabuddhe further said during the past ten years BJP rule in the State the Government had given public oriented governance that had handful of achievements due to that the state has reached to newer heights in both urban and rural zones.
He said that they should present quality of urban administration and development works as the goodwill of our election campaign before the people.Sahasrabuddhe was all praise for the Shivraj Singh Chouhan-led Government and the State organisation. Earlier Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and State president Nandkumar Singh accorded welcome to Sahasrabuddhe by presenting bouquet of flowers.
The Chief Minister in his address said, “With the election campaign we should also continue the cleanliness drive and membership extension drive. Election is golden chance for membership drive. We have to request the people in our every public meeting to call on the toll free number to become member of the party.”
Chouhan further said that Madhya Pradesh would play decisive role in achieving the target of making 9 crore members set by the party.
MP BJP president and MP Nandkumar Singh Chouhan said, “We should take the local body elections as mini elections of assembly and should stay away from being over confident. There are several reasons in our favor, the work done by the BJP government in last ten years in the local body’s is more than the work done in past fifty years.”
Nandkumar Singh said that the popularity of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Chouhan was an asset for the party and they should cash it on at the full.
