The 709 square kilometers of forest of Indore district lies in Mhow and Indore tehsil and according to sources, the locals, who are residing around the 709 square kilometers of forest, are chopping the trees and capturing the land of forest and using it for agriculture purposes as in 2008, a Government rule came into force that anybody, who is possessing the forest land before year December 13, 2005 will be the owner of that land hence, after that more and more people started to capture the forest land that in the future Government will again make a rule and give them the possession of the land which they are capturing today.
Due to the intensive chopping of the forest the area of the forest is decreasing and which is directly affecting the environment, rain cycle, temperature and wild life of the area.
According to sources, the forest department has very less budget and hence they are unable to erect fencing around the forest. locals people alleged that if the Government doesn’t take some urgent and effective steps to save the forest and forest area very soon the dancing peacock, the birds, monkeys and other flora and fauna will be the thing to be seen in the documentary as the wildlife is facing a tremendous danger due to the encroachment of the human beings in the forest.
It is to be noted that Madhya Pradesh has total 1 lakh square kilometers of forest area and day by day the area is decreasing due to the encroachment of forest.
later on this tribal and other people, who are capturing the land, will sell this land to the rich builders, who will come up with farm house and multi-storey building near the forest and thus, forest will come to an end in near future.
locals alleged that Government should start the special project as save forest project to save the forest and forest area and should sanction special budget for fencing and erecting boundary walls on war footing around the forests within a limited time frame.
