Govt employees advised to avoid leave during polls

In view of the forthcoming State Assembly elections due next month and recognising its important to conduct free and fair, the District Election Officer and Collector has appealed to all the Government employees in the district not to seek leave during this period unless their work is not of utmost importance.

The officer also advised them to take permission of leave from the district election officer only.

“The employees have to forward their leave application to the District Election Office after validating by the head of the department but if their applications are not so important and necessary they should avoid it as the election work is the top priority of the District administration,” said District Election Officer and collector Nishant Warwade.

Unless it was very important employees should not apply for leave and this should be checked by the head of the department before forwarding the leave application to the district election officer, maintained Warwade. He further warned that if leave application for unnecessary reasons are received by the office then action would be initiated against the head of department itself.

Warwade stated this while reviewing the arrangements and preparations of employees who were going to be deployed for the election duty and instructed to provide training to all the employees who are not going to be deployed during the election duty.

A data base of employees and officials who are going to take the responsibility of election duty is made and the Deputy District Election Officer has been asked to arrange training for all those included in the date base. All those included in the data base are going to be trained but all of them are not going to be deployed and the exercise is aimed to sufficient options.

Name of Army personnel, CRPF, RPF, CISF and other military personnel who are to be deployed should be included in the voters list.

Warwade expressed displeasure over the issue of providing wrong Electorates’ Photo Identity Card (EPIC) and name of voters in the voters list, without checking by several head of the department.
