Right To Information (RTI) activist Ajay Dubey on Wednesday alleged that the State Government deputes only relatives of influential persons to represent it in the court.
Dubey in a statement here on Wednesday said that the documents obtained by him through RTI reveal that the MP Government hires the services of relatives of only big and influential persons to represent it in the courts that is open violation of the transparency and fairness provisions.
Dubey said, “The Shivraj Singh Chouhan-led BJP Government of the State deputed close relatives of two former Chief Justices in the Supreme Court and other forums to represent it by providing them job and in turn gained virtue.”
Dubey further said that similarly husband and daughter of senior BJP leader and union minister Sushma Swaraj were hired to represent state government in Delhi thus providing them employment. Nephew of principal secretary to chief minister SK Mishra was also appointed advocate for the state government, he added.
He said that when the Government appointed Union Minister Arun Jaitley’s daughter to represent it in Delhi. The self-respectful young advocate immediately turned down the State Government’s proposal. Besides, a senior Congress leader obliged the State Government by rising above party politics honestly represented the State Government though it was in turn of huge fees, he added.
Dubey also a member of the Transparency International said, “We demand that the State Government should come up with clear policy of appointing advocates in lower courts, high courts, tribunals and the Supreme Court.”
