Govt appoints 108 doctors without proper documents

The ambitious plan of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan to provide an excellent health services to the people of the State before the forthcoming State Assembly elections became just a cliché with the Health department, after having selected the medical experts, failed to appoint them still.

Sources claimed that health officials failed to submit the certificates and other documents of over 100 selected candidates. It further said that in order to fulfil Chief Minister’s ambitious plan, the State Health department had recruited over 800 doctors and after recruitment the file was sent to the Government for approval. However, it was found that of the total 800 appointed doctors, documents of 108 doctors were not complete, raising eyebrows of the officials. Thus the file was returned with the objection that documents be completed.

Sources from the department informed that there was a note in favour of the 108 doctors that they would submit their documents after the appointment but the Government officials were not satisfied with this. It was this departmental note that caught attention of the officials and the objection was raised that how could it be ascertained without documents that the appointed persons are qualified doctors. A point that anyone would justify also enabling the officials to return the file to the department with valid reason, sources added.

Principal Secretary Health Praveer Krishna, when asked to comment over the issue tried to avert it by passing it on to the director health Sanjay Goel who in turn passed the buck towards Health Minister Narottam Mishra by saying that the file is pending with him. Goel said, “The appointments are taken care by the Commissioner health, however to the best of my knowledge this file is lying pending with the Health Minister for the reasons best known to him.” However, official sources said that the delay was certainly going to hamper State Government’s plan for providing better health services in the State ahead of the Assembly elections and taking advantage of it.
