Political activities hot up in Madhya Pradesh on Saturday, a day after Governor Ram Naresh Yadav has shot a letter to Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan suggesting convening Assembly session to discuss no-confidence motion brought by the Congress.

On the call of the Chief Minister, Assembly Speaker Ishwardas Rohani reached former's residence here. Parliamentary Affairs Minister Narottam Mishra was also present there, when they discussed about the future course of action. later, Mishra told mediapersons that the Government was consulting Constitution experts as what could be done after the letter from the Governor has been received. When asked Rohani, whether Assembly's session would be convened, he said that it was the Government that has to decide on the matter. later, in the evening, former Chief Minister Sunderlal Patwa created sensation by writing a letter to the Governor.

While talking to mediapersons at the State BJP headquarters, Patwa said that he has asked the Governor to remain cautious at a time when efforts are being made to the dignified post of a Governor as political weapon. In the letter circulated by Patwa, it was stated that in the letter sent to the Chief Minister, the Governor has mentioned that on the basis of a complaint made by leader of the Opposition, signed by 66 Congress legislators, he has decided to suggest for convening Assembly session.

“According to the Indian Constitution, Governor acts on the suggestions of the Chief Minister and the State cabinet, but your advice in the letter is contrary to the Constitution,” he added. Patwa also questioned the recent Delhi visit of the Governor. He pointed out in the letter that by visiting Congress president Sonia Gandhi, during his Delhi visit, he has put question mark on the dignity of his post. “I cannot remember any instance when a Governor visited any party president seeking suggestions. You still have time to refuse becoming a puppet in the hands of Congress and Delhi Durbar,” he told. In the letter, Patwa asked the Governor to immediately withdraw the letter in want of adequate facts and Constitutional analysis.
