Students of Delhi Public School (DPS), Bhopal on Tuesday met the Governor, Anandiben Patel at Raj Bhavan.
The Governor queried the students regarding their studies, games and other interesting activities.
The students gave apt answers to her questions. She distributed toffees among the students.
Patel said that the educational institutions and teachers of primary, middle and higher secondary schools should take the students on a tour of the villages because our country is actually made up of these villages. This visit will help develop new thoughts and outlook among the school students.
She said that the students must be made to halt for a day in the village and visit the fields, panchayats etc and imparted knowledge about how farming is done.
This will develop a sense of respect and honour in the students for the farmers and villagers. They will get a chance to know more about farming and farmers and they will be apprised of the difficulties faced by the farmers in cultivation and the hard work they have to put in.
The Governor suggested that the teachers should take children on a visit to places of historic interest and tourist spots and make them write about their experiences in the form of articles on their return and get the articles published in a book form.
She said that while this would develop a habit of writing articles in the students, it would also help many children grow up to be authors.
