Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that Mukhyamantri Kanya Vivah Yojana is our effort in the direction of making a daughter a boon and not a burden.
The state government started this scheme in the year 2006 with the aim to ensure that the marriage of the daughter should not be a burden to the family. Lakhs of daughters have been married in the last 16 years under the scheme. Marriage is considered a Sanskar in Indian culture. Chief Minister Chouhan said that not only the bride and groom unite in marriage, but two families also unite and the society also unites.
Chouhan wished, may the bride and groom who are bound in the bond of marriage live happily and peacefully, may God’s blessings be upon them, may both the bride and groom live with love and increase love and harmony between the two families as well. Chouhan was virtually addressing the mass marriage ceremonies held in janpad panchayat Khategaon of Dewas district, janpad panchayat Kesla of Narmadapuram, janpad panchayat Chichli of Narsinghpur.
