The remembrance of Jesus’ passion and death was held at all the churches particularly in MP on Friday. Good Friday was observed through the way of the cross in which 14 stations depicted the Churches.
Archbishop leo Cornelio said to the people that cross is a sign of redemption and love of God.
They should be proud of this cross which identifies every Christians into the body of Jesus.
He condemned all the forms of violence and persecution done against the Christians of all over the world.
He asked the people to remember the words of Jesus saying “Remember if they have done violence against me, then be sure you the disciples will be also ready to face persecutions & violence”
The PRO of Bhopal Archdiocese Fr Maria Stephen said Christians will never stop practicing faith because of violence against them rather suffering inspire the faith and the Church to spread further all over the world.
Meanwhile, Good Friday was also observed with all solomnity by the Syro-Malabar church at the BHEl Carmel school ground.
Depicting the crucification of Jesus people carried cross reciting way of the cross. Scene of crucifixion was enacted by the youth in a heart touching way.
The occasion was also marked by donating blood by devotees in association with Hamidia Hospital Blood bank where 70 people donated blood.
The way of the cross started at 9 am and continued till 10 am followed by passion narration which was led by Fr James Athikalam Priest in Charge of Syro malabar church.
large number of faithful and religious participated in the service.
