Gold and silver jewelries worth Rs 2 lakh were stolen from Teelajamalpura locality. Police are still clueless about the miscreants.

According to the police, the victim Shibbulal Sahu and his wife happened to check their valuables in the steel almirah on Wednesday and found that gold and silver jewelries were missing and after failing to find the jewelry at several places in the house, lodged a complaint with the police.

A complaint was lodged with the police by the victim and in his complaint victim stated that his wife had kept the gold and silver jewelries in the steel almirah and she had last checked them around a month ago. She had used the ornaments for attending a marriage function and later kept in a box. Since then, she did not check the valuables inside the steel almirah.

On Wednesday morning, she happened to check the ornaments and found that they were not inside. Following this, she asked regarding the jewelry but Sahu expressed ignorance over the whereabouts of the jewelries. Police said that all the possibilities would be investigated as at the moment nothing concrete has been found in the investigation.

It could not be ascertained when were the valuables stolen as the last time victim’s wife used them was around a month ago after which the victim and his wife were not aware about the missing jewelry and when it was stolen. The victim works as a property dealer while his wife works as school teacher.

Based on the complaint after the preliminary investigation the police have registered a case under section 380 of the IPC and have started further investigation.

Police said that the domestic help and acquaintances would be questioned during the further investigation as the circumstantial evidences suggest that the valuables have been stolen by acquaintance or has been tipped by some acquaintance.
