A 19-year old girl committed suicide by hanging from the ceiling at Barkheda Pathani under Govindpura police station area late on Thursday night.
According to the police, at around 10 pm Roshni Sahu had returned to her room and was found hanging later by the family after which she was rushed to a nearby hospital where she was declared dead.
Police were informed and after preliminary investigation the body was sent for the post-mortem. The police have registered a case under section 174 of the CrPC and have started further investigation.
The police have not found any suicide note. The victim's maternal uncle found her hanging and alerted other family members who reached there and took her to a nearby hospital.
Police said the victim used to live with her maternal uncle and grandparents at Barkheda Pathani and used to work for a private company in Mandideep. The maternal uncle of the victim, Ganesh Sahu, told the police that the victim returned at around 10 pm on Thursday and after having dinner she went to sleep in her room where she committed suicide by hanging from the ceiling.
Police said that the employees working at the private company in which the victim used to work would be questioned. Family and friends would also be questioned during the investigation as the victim has not shared any kind of information before committing suicide.
Meanwhile, a 28-year-old married woman committed suicide by hanging from the ceiling near Imami Gate under Kotwali police station area on Thursday. According to the police Dolly Batham was found hanging at her residence and was rushed to a nearby hospital where she was declared dead.
No suicide note was found and the body was sent for the post-mortem. A case under section 174 of the CrPC has been registered by the police after preliminary investigation.
