The girls of Madhya Pradesh State Boxing Academy exhibited a brilliant show at the 3rd Madhya Pradesh State level Boxing Championship. The players bagged 27 medals including 17 gold medals and 10 silver medals.
The players played wondrously in different categories including women sub-junior, junior, senior boxing championship held at the Shrimant Rajmata Vijayaaraje Scindiya Sports Complex, Gwalior.
After a wonderful victory, the medal winners met State Minister for Sports and Youth Welfare Yashodhara Raje met with Scindia at TT Nagar Stadium here on Tuesday. Scindia expressing her contentment congratulated the medal winners and appreciated them for their achievement.
The Sports Minister while congratulating the medal winners said that similar performances should be showcased in national and international competitions too. She asked them to win medals in all the matched and bring laurels to the State and the country.
On this occasion, Chief Secretary Sports M. Mohanrao, Director Sports and Youth Welfare S.l. Thoussen and Chief Instructor of Boxing Academy Roshan lal were present.
In State level female sub-junior, junior category of junior / senior boxing championship, Kiran Rikvar B-42 kg, Radhika Tekam B-46 kg, Payal Chasia B-48 kg, land Singh, C-50 G., H.H. Singh, C-54 KG, Ankita Verma A-46 kg, Mahi lama A60kg, Ruba Khan, A-63 Kgs won gold medal respectively in each category.
On the other hand, Swatiya Dhami B-52 kg, Neelam Kushwaha B-38 kg, Payal Dravid C-50 kg, Ayushy Awasthi A-48 kg and Rita Dalare A-52 kg won silver medal respectively in weightlifting. In the junior category, Gitanjali Negi 60 kg, and Arpita Shukla 82 kg won gold medal in weight lifting. Radha Patidar 57 kg snd Amaya Yadav 64 kg won a silver medal in the weightlifting. In the same category, Deepika Verma 48 kg, Anjali Sharma 51 kg, Deepa Kumari 54 kg, Money Singh Gaur 57 kg, Sarita Singh 60 kg, Nancy Piyaasi 69 kg and Shruti Yadav 75 kg won gold medal.
Nandini Kaushal 48 kg, Purnima Rajput 51 kg and Nisha Yadav 60 kg won a silver medal each in weightlifting. Academy players Ankita Verma in Junior Category and Anjali Sharma in Senior category won the title of Best Boxer and Shruti Yadav won the title of Best Promising Boxer.
