A 19-year-old girl was sexually exploited for the past two years on the promise of marriage at Barkheda Pathani area; Govindpura police have registered case and started investigation.
According to the police, the victim was sexually assaulted by the accused Devendra Singh for the past two years and during the period assured her of marriage and continued to sexually exploit her. Based on the complaint, the police have registered a case under sections 376 and 506 of the IPC.
The victim came into contact with the accused around two years ago at a marriage function and gradually developed relationship with her. The accused lured her of marriage. The victim was accompanied by the accused to his house where she was sexually assaulted and the exploitation continued for the next two years. The Victim claimed that she was assured by the accused but even after several requests accused failed to accept.
The situation turned worse for the victim as when she pressed for marriage, the accused threatened her of life and escaped. The victim informed her family and approached Govindpura police and lodged a complaint on Wednesday. The accused was nabbed and has been sent under judicial custody.
The victim works as a domestic while the details of the accused are yet to be investigated. The victim lives with her grandfather after the death of her parents.She left studies after class 5 and used to live at home. Later due to poor financial conditions she started to work as domestic help.
