An 11-year old girl was mowed down by a tractor at Raunjiya village under Berasia police station on Saturday evening. According to the police, the girl died after the tractor ran over her while she was asleep on Saturday evening. The victim, Shivani, was sleeping under the trolley when the driver rolled back the tractor. She was rushed to a nearby hospital where she was declared dead.
After preliminary investigation the body was sent for post-mortem examination. At the time of the incident the victim's father, Kanhaiyalal, and his wife were working in the farms and the victim had gone to take a nap under the trolley. She took shelter under the trolley for shade from the sun. The police have registered a case.
Police said that the victim used to live in Berasia area and her parents were daily wage labours. The victim would accompany them during their working works. After the incident accused driver escaped the spot and is still at large.
