A 20-year old girl committed suicide by hanging after seeing her 15-year old brother who was scolded by her set himself ablaze, in Baghmughalia locality under Bagh Sewania police station area on Sunday.
According to the police, at around 4 pm neighbours of Bansilal at Nai Basti heard shrieks of Ajay and rushed to his help only to find that Ajay was engulfed in flames and the neighbours were shocked to find his sister Madhu hanging from the ceiling. Both the brother and sister were rushed to a nearby hospital where Madhu was declared dead while Ajay is undergoing treatment at Hamidia hospital. Police were informed and after preliminary investigation the body was sent for the post-mortem.
SHO Bagh Sewania police station Dinesh Joshi told that the youth was unemployed and on Sunday his sister spotted him smoking and scolded him for this and not working after which frustrated over the scolding he went inside the house and set himself ablaze. Shocked over his act the victim’s sister committed suicide by hanging from the ceiling.
The victim has sustained more than 70 percent which makes the chances of survival very less. The victim is undergoing treatment at Hamidia hospital and reportedly his condition is critical claimed the doctors, he added.
In the initial investigation these facts have been revealed the investigations are on and the statements of the family and neighhoiurs are yet to be taken said the police.
The police have registered a case under section 174 of the CrPC and have started further investigation.
