The Kolar police have booked a Guna based girl on the charge of creating a fake Facebook and Whatsapp profile of her friend and sent indecent comments to relatives; accused girl has extorted Rs 6500 from victim.
Police said that the complainant Lokednra Singh is a resident of state capital lodged a complaint with the Kolar police regarding posting of messages over fake facebook and Whatsapp profile made using her name and photographs.
The Kolar police started investigation and obtained information. Based on the information it was found that the fake profiles were operated from Guna by Radha Acharya.
The victim was not aware regarding the fake facebook and Whatsapp profile and his relatives made him aware that they are receiving obscene comments and allegations on victims through his own profiles. The victim checked and found that the profiles were made fake.
Accused was friend with the victim and later victim got married. In the past after accused threatened she was sent notice by the victim still she continued to harass victim. Based on the complaint after the preliminary investigation the police have registered a case under section IT act and relevant IPC sections.
Police are yet to confirm crime record of the accused and her involvement in crimes of the same nature and would search his electronic devices and social media accounts. The reason of creating fake profile would be investigated as the accused is yet to be questioned.
