Congress candidate Pratap Singh Uikey filed his nomination papers on Thursday for the by-election of Ghoradongri Assembly seat (Scheduled Tribes) in the presence of Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee president Arun Yadav. Bharatiya Janata Party candidate Mangal Singh Dhruve had already filed his papers two days ago in the presence of CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan.
The bypoll was necessitated after the death of BJP MlA Sajjan Singh Uikey. The polling will be held on May 30 while counting would take place on June 2. Talking to media after Uikey's filing of nomination papers, Yadav alleged that the BJP was saffronising the ongoing Simhasth Kumbh Mela in Ujjain. He said the Government failed to provide the basic amenities such as potable water, power and toilets to the visitors and even the monks were disappointed over the arrangements.
