Now you can get the information regarding the process of getting a new passport on your mobile by spending `30 for an SMS. The aspirants have an option to not to visit the passport service centre to seek the information.
The Union Foreign Ministry has started new facility for passport application- one would have to select SMS service while uploading E-Form at passport service portal for applying for the passport. For this additional amount of 30 would have to be paid.
After submitting the application, one would get information through SMS about the file which has been sent to which officer when and where in which condition it is. The SMS would help in tracking the passport, as it would deliver at every end, like when it has reached SP office, when it was sent from SP office to police station concerned and when it was dispatched to the applicant. The old applicants also can take advantage of this service. The applicant can register himself on SMS service through passport website.
On registration he would have to given their mobile number also the regional passport officer Nidhi Ojha said that this service has been started for the facility of the applicant. The applicant would have to do any call or SMS. The Software would update the applicant on his mobile through SMS.
