Union External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj here on Monday met Geeta, currently staying at Indore Deaf Bilingual Academy in Gumashta Nagar locality of the city.
With the help of a sign language expert, Sushma interacted with Geeta and asked her whether she was happy in Indore or she was facing any kind of inconveniences.
Soon after reaching the Academy, the Union Minister offered `laddus' which she had brought, to Geeta with her own hand. Sushma said Geeta was like her daughter and hunt for her family has not been stopped. "My hunt will end the day when I would be able to unite Geeta with her family," Sushma said, adding that even today she had brought photographs of two families along with her as they are claiming Geeta as their daughter. The Union Minister during her stay at the deaf and dumb centre gave some tips to the centre officials to trace the identity of her family and accordingly asked them to find out from Geeta as to what kind of hairstyle she had in her childhood. Sushma who has been instrumental in bringing back Geeta from Pakistan, said mostly girls are identified by their hairstyle and any change in hair style gives a different look.
"Keeping this in mind, I have asked a sign language expert to find out from Geeta as to what kind of hairstyle she used to have in her childhood, whether she had one tail, two tails or she had short hairs. If she starts adopting same kind of hairstyle as she had in her childhood, it would be easier for her family to trace her," the Minister said while interacting with media persons at the centre.
An emotional Geeta hugged Sushma and expressed gratitude to her for ensuring her return from Pakistan. The deaf and mute is still hoping to meet reel life 'Bajrangi Bhaijaan' Salman Khan. Geeta was more than delighted to see Sushma as she reached the shelter home in Indore on Monday morning. Geeta said she was quite happy being in Indore, where she is learning so many things. She also gifted a card made by her to the Swaraj. Since her return to India sometime back, Geeta has been living in Indore as desired by her.
