Gaur takes dig at Madani's anti-BJP statement

Published on:

Reacting sharply to Jamiat Ulema-i-Hind head Mahmood Madani’s appeal to Muslims to vote for outfits other than the Bharatiya Janata Party, Madhya Pradesh Home Affairs Minister and ex-Chief Minister Babulal Gaur on Wednesday said that such a statement would not only sever the community from the national mainstream but also encourage communal and hardliner thinking.

“It will result in deterioration of fraternity and deal a blow to the Ganga-Yamuna culture. The appeal amounts to abusing the voters’ right and is fraught with prejudice. Mohammedans have comprehended that all their problems will be solved only through development,” the BJP leader said. Madani should mention whether in the past decade Muslim voters were discriminated against in any BJP-ruled State, Gaur added.
