Crime branch Bhopal and Ujjain have busted a five-member gang of miscreants involved in duping victims in the name of loan; call centers at Dewas, Ujjain, Maxsi and Sarangpur were raided and fake operations were found.
Several persons have been duped by the gang which used to cheat victims in the name of facilitating loan.
According to the police the victim Shoukat Ali lodged a complaint that a woman Jyoti who claimed to be an employee of Sundaram Finance contacted him and alter was provided details over his gmail account and for facilitating loan she took money in parts and when the victim asked regarding the loan her mobile phone was found switched.
Based on the complaint after the preliminary investigation the accused named in the complaint Jyoti Tiwari was quizzed who confessed that Sanjay Sharma and his younger brother Satish Sharma operate a call center using mobile phones and duped victims in the name of availing loan and used to obtain information of bank account and ATM cards.
She confessed that from 40 different bank accounts and using ATM cards the victims were duped to deposit the money and were withdrawn later from different cities using ATM cards.
The girls working for the accused were provided commission apart from their salary and would sponsor expenses of expensive hotels in Indore.
The nabbed accused were identified as Satish alias Dharmendra Sharma, Vikas Singh, Sanjay Patel, Rajkumar Patel and Ramakant Joshi while the main accused Sanjay Sharma went absconding and is still at large.
Role of every accused was defined Satish used to find bank account holders and later withdrawal of money from ATM machines.
Sanjay Sharma used to operate call center and would facilitate deposit of money in account. Ramakant and Vikas would recce probable places and collect ATM card and pass book from the victims.
Sanjay Patel and Rajkumar Patel are retailers who used to provide SIM cards used for contacting the customers. The girls were trained on communication which was provided after questioning half a dozen girls of call center.
