The ideologies, thoughts and life philosophy of the Father of Nation Mahatma Gandhi are relevant as much today as it were in yester years. What are required today that younger generation must acquaint themselves with thoughts of Gandhi ji, said senior Gandhian and eminent doctor Karunakar Trivedi while addressing a symposium on RsGandhi – As I understand’ organised by the Oriental university on Thursday.
Dr Trivedi said as he understood Gandhi and saw him from very close quarters, Mahatma Gandhi not only preached simplicity but adopted simplicity in his life letter and spirit. He always said that one must take things as much as one requires because if things are in excess of one’s requirement, it can be of use for other persons.
The veteran Gandhian said that Gandhi’s simplicity, sacrifice and dedication not only influenced those who were associated with closely but also his contemporaries as well. He developed confidence in countrymen and created awareness among them towards service to the nation.
