The police on Wednesday night arrested eight persons on the charge of gambling from a hotel at MP Nagar. A total of Rs 4.5 lakh in cash was recovered from their possession.
Acting on a tip off Raunak Plaza hotel of MP Nagar was raided and during the raid 7 persons were caught gambling inside the hotel room. Police claimed that on a tip off a team of cops raided the hotel room number 305 and caught gamblers red-handed.
Station House Officer of MP Nagar police station Brajesh Bhargava told that the arrested accused have been identified as Rajesh (35), of Barkheda Pathani, Rishiraj Singh (34) of Kolar , Ramesh lalwani (55) of Bairagarh, Mahendra alias Bablu Thakur (45) of Jehangirabad , Ajay Sahu (40) of Jehangirabad, Bhawar Singh Pal( 49) of Raisen, Manoj Chaukse (37) of Cholla Mandir and Suresh Kushwaha (45) of Kolar.
The police have registered case under Gambling Act and have started further investigation.
