Galaxy of BJP national leaders finalised for MP poll campaign

In connection with State Assembly elections scheduled on November 25, Madhya Pradesh Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has finalised a list of senior leaders who would campaign in the State.

The list of leaders includes BJP’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi, senior party leader lK Advani, BJP president Rajnath Singh, Sushma Swaraj, Murlimanohar Joshi, Venkaiyah Naidu, Arun Jaitley, Nitin Gadkari and others. Party sources said the senior leaders have given consent for coming to Madhya Pradesh on different dates. Now, it is being decided as where these leaders could be utilised.

lK Advani would address party’s rallies on November 14, 19 and 22, while Rajnath Singh on November 12, 15 and 17. Similarly, Narendra Modi would be in the State for four days, on November 18, 20, 21 and 22. Besides, Sushma Swaraj would campaign for five days, while Arun Jaitley and Murlimanohar Joshi on two days each. Going with the recent surveys that claimed around 53 per cent people wanted Modi as prime minister of the country, the BJP feels his visits in the State would also benefit the party in making hat trick in the November 25 polls.

Besides these senior leaders, faces from glamour world might also canvass in favour of the BJP. During last assembly polls, yesteryears’ cine stars Vinod Khanna and Hema Malini had arrived in Madhya Pradesh, but this time, besides these two, Smriti Irani, Navjot Singh Sidhu, Suresh Oberoi, Mukesh Khanna and others might also be roped in.

Notably, the BJP is largely banking on the image of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and the achievements of the BJP Government of the State during its past ten years rule in the State. However, party sources feel that since Assembly polls are being viewed as semi-final before the lok Sabha elections, the BJP is leaving no stone unturned during the campaigning.
