Gajraja Medical College facing garbage problem

Published on:

Hostels of Gajraja Medical College have been facing problems with garbage and filth for quite some time and with the lax attitude of the college authorities, four junior doctors have become the victims of Hepatitis C.

The medical students alleged that the college administration has taken the full fees but it has not provided the facilities of clean drinking water etc. In the hostel, the students have to buy the drinking water bottles from outside the campus. These doctors who are instructing their patients for the clean drinking water and keep their houses clean are facing big problems of the facilities in Medical College hostels.

In the hostels, there is almost no arrangement of cleaning and maintenance. Thick layer of dirt has accumulated in the water cooler and it has spoiled the filter. There is big mismanagement in the hostel from the administration point of view. Several junior doctors have been hospitalised due to consumption of contaminated water. They have been suffering from dysentery and vomiting.

Junior doctors association has submitted a complaint in this regard by giving a letter to the dean regarding their problems but till date no action has been taken to resolve the matters. In the letter, junior doctors association has pointed out 14 points regarding their problems. Dr Hemant and Dr Vipin are sick due to diarrhoea and vomiting and diagnosis with the hepatitis C, so they have been admitted in hospital.

Prakhar Shukhla, Assistant Secretary of Junior Doctors Association, told, “We have informed about the problems on regular intervals to the Medical Administration but till date that the matter is still lying as it is with the medical administration department. They have not taken the matter seriously and resolve the complaint. We have been in worst condition and now this is the result in front of us that now the junior doctors are getting sick and admitted to the hospital.”
