FTII Chairman faces opposition at MCNUJC

The Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) Chairman Gajendra Chauhan faced opposition here on his visit to inaugurate the new session of the Makhanlal Chaturvedi National University of Journalism and Communication on Wednesday.

As soon as Chauhan came out with university vice chancellor Professor BK Kuthiala after the programme, some students started opposing him, shouting slogans ‘Go back Gajendra’ and ‘Gajendra Hai Hai.’ The students also showed black flags to the controversial FTII chairman.

One of the opposing students Suhad Tiwari while talking to mediapersons said that the person who is facing allegations of saffronisation of institute like FTII should not have been invited in the inaugural session of the university. “Does Kuthiala want to completely saffronize the university,” Tiwari questioned.

Tiwari further said that we would never let this happen and would always stand for the irregularities carried out against the students in the university.

Chauhan when asked about the student’s opposition declined to comment over the incidence by saying that every person has his point of view and he has every right to express it but the veteran actor took the opportunity lash over his bashers by saying that the educational institutes should be kept away from politics. Some peoples are using students as facades to target the current government of the country. Students have been provoked and instigated for that. The government is doing good job and the opposition is not getting any issue to corner it, he added.
