Additional Director General of Police, State Cyber, Yogesh Chaudhary said that at present cyber fraudsters are contacting by calling or messaging, that your bank account has been locked due to non-updation of KYC and collect confidential information is asked which is trap as at that time personal and bank confidential information is shared to update KYC, then money is fraudulently transferred from your account by cyber criminals.
Choudhary said that these days such cyber crimes are coming to the notice in the state in which cyber criminals make calls and messages informing themselves as bank employees saying that account is locked and have to update KYC to get the account unlocked.
To update KYC, by asking personal and bank related details like Account Number, CIF Number, IFSC, Card Number, CVV Number, OTP etc., get Internet Banking Access (Login ID) of account or create a new Internet Banking ID in your account.
The criminals also adds their own mobile number and the fraudsters also start receiving all the OTPs of your account on their own number and you stop getting the transaction / OTP message of deducting money from the bank account, due to which cyber criminals are constantly getting your money.
No bank employees call you and ask you your personal and bank related information, so do not believe the phone calls and messages from any unknown mobile number, contact your bank personally.
If you have any such crime then report it to your nearest police station or www.cybercrime.gov.in or Toll Free number 155260.
