Several aspiring actors and models of state and Chhattisgarh were duped to the tune of lakhs of rupees by a fraudster; a complaint was lodged with the MP Nagar police after an audio of a victim model and fraud went viral in Raipur.
According to the police members of Shri Bharatiya Janata TV and Cine Working Union were duped by the accused identified as Rahul Sharma who was spotted in Bhopal but later managed to escape.
The president of Shri Bhartiya Janta TV and Cine Working Union Manish Soni revealed that the accused has used different names in different cities like Monty Sharma, Sameer Sharma, Anshu Sharma and many more.
Few artists who are member of Shri Bhartiya Janta TV and Cine Working Union reached MP Nagar police and lodged a complaint regarding the wrong doing in the name of coordination.
The accused have also duped to the tune of lakhs of rupees from actors and models in Jabalpur, Raipur and Mumbai.
After spotting Sharma in the city Soni accompanied him to office and informed two of the victim girls but Sharma managed to escape and is still absconding.
In the initial investigation police found that the accused used to pressurize the girl models to engage in physical relationship in return of facilitating work in TV serials.
He had created a fake profile of Facebook in the name of Divya Dimple Kapoor and would use the fake profile to lure girls with work in movies and those who agreed were provided with mobile number of the accused and were trapped by the accused.
Soni claimed that he came to know about the accused after one of the member of the union was duped to the tune of Rs 2500 and later when searched it was found that Sharma had duped more than 25 girls.
