Nishatpura police have booked four miscreants for attacking a 28-year-old labourer at Karond Mandi in the evening on Saturday.
Police said that the victim Asif Khan was attacked by the miscreants after a dispute with them and was rushed to Hamidia hospital where he condition is reportedly stable.
CSP Nishatpura Lokesh Sinha said that the reason of the dispute remained unclear and more details could be revealed after the accused are nabbed. In the preliminary investigation it was found that more than one miscreant were involved in the attack.
The victim was attacked in his neck and back side of upper body. His statements would be recorded which could help in nabbing the accused and find reason behind the attack, he added.
After the attack when the victim was taken to hospital and he was not in a condition to provide details of the attack and attackers, later on Sunday police tried to record statements but still he was not in position to record statements.
In the initial investigation police have found that Bablu alias Chirata and his aides have attacked the victim. The spot where the victim was attacked had CCTV cameras and would be investigated. The police are yet to obtain the CCTV footages in the investigation.
The police have registered a case under section 307 of the IPC and started further investigation. The police have started investigation to establish the identity of the accused and after the identity would be established the search for the accused would be intensified.
