Former FM Raghavji still in Central jail

Despite having granted bail from the High Court on Monday, former finance minister Raghavji who was lodged in the Bhopal central jail could not come out on Tuesday.

When the Jabalpur High Court granted bail to the former minister on Monday it was expected that the legal formalities would be completed on Tuesday and he would be released from the prison on Tuesday.

However, due to a small mistake by his advocate, Raghavji could not be released from the jail on Tuesday. The advocate instead of submitting true copy of the bail papers, submitted fax copy in the CJM court here on Tuesday, hence the former minister could not be released from the jail.

Sources said the jail authorities kept on waiting for the release orders till 8 pm, but the orders did not reach.

Notably, taking cognizance of his age and failing health and observing that he had no criminal antecedents, Justice Tarun Kaushal granted him bail on the condition of his furnishing a security bond for `1 lakh.
