For the first time in Madhya Pradesh, a Congress leader has raised voice against AICC general secretary and former chief minister of state Digvijay Singh.
In a letter to AICC Chairperson Sonia Gandhi and Vice-president of the party Rahul Gandhi, former minister of Madhya Pradesh and former Member of Parliament from Dewas Sajjan Singh Verma has questioned Digvijay Singh’s role in the Congress party, stating that there are leaders in the party who along with family are out to weaken the party.
Without naming the senior leader, Verma stated that some of the leaders have been given charge of other States, but going through the results of those States in the elections their role could easily get expose.
Starting the letter, Verma said, “I am writing this letter while watching the recent assembly election results in five States including Uttar Pradesh and Goa. I remember the working style of late Indira Gandhi. For a brief period, I had a chance to work with late Gandhi, who used to take prompt decision, no matter whether to decide face of a chief minister of president of the party in any State.”
While talking to ‘The Pioneer’, Verma told that in the current year, elections to five other States are scheduled. later, in 2018, once again five more States would go to poll including Madhya Pradesh. In such a situation, such leaders whom I have discussed in the letter, would play spoilsport. They certainly need to be removed from the charge of States.
Asked as why he was shy not to name the leader, Verma stated that when everybody knows about whom he was talking about, there is no need. He informed that after Rang Panchami festival he is going to meet AICC chairperson Sonia Gandhi and general secretary Rahul Gandhi to discuss the same issue.
