The Forest Department officials have caught the poachers involved in the killing of the 5-year old tiger, which was found dead in Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve on November 4. The forest team has arrested Tejwan, Khelan, Janpad Gour and Dhanurdhari from village Karondiya whereas their leader Shoukhilal Jaiswal is absconding. Principal Chief Conservator of Forest (Wild life) Jitendra Agarwal informed that the hunters have accepted one more killing of a wild boar on October 27 during the interrogation.

The poachers have told that they have laid electricity wire up to 2 kilometers with an intention to kill wild boar once again on the next day of Deepawali. The tiger crossed the wire but his tail touched the wire killing him instantly. The poachers further said that they had no intention to kill the tiger. In nervousness, we took the carcass and threw it at the distant place.

Joint Director Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve BB Bangad said at the first sight we thought of a natural death because all the tiger’s limbs were intact. But we suspected tiger’s death due to current after we found clotting in heart in the autopsy report. During the search, we found small pieces of wire in agriculture field and marks of peg, which made it possible to arrest the culprits. The carcass of the tiger killed at Karondiya of Panpatha circle was found on November 4.
