leader of opposition in the state assembly Ajay Singh has termed the launching of Food Security Guarantee scheme in New Delhi by Congress president Sonia Gandhi as historic and revolutionary step.
Singh in a statement here on Tuesday said that the launching of the pro poor scheme proves that the Congress is determined for the welfare of the weaker sections. If comparison of the UPA and NDA schemes is done than it would become clear that on the one hand the schemes of the UPA are in the interest of the poor and weaker sections and conserve their basic rights and on the other hand exposes the false Shining India claims of the NDA. During the NDA regime not a single scheme was launched that made poor or the rural India strong and provide them opportunity to lead respected life, he added.
He said that during the UPA rule many flagships schemes including MNREGA, national rural health mission, RTI and Food Security Guarantee for the welfare of the people have been launched. These schemes have brought prosperity in the rural India, he added.
The leader of opposition said that by opposing the Food Security Guarantee scheme the intents of the BJP that is planning to sail thorough in the name of Modi in next general elections also becomes clear. The BJP is trying to deviate the attention of the people from the public welfare schemes and is misleading them by turning their attention towards those issues that are not important, he added.
