The rashly driven schoolbus of Colonel’s Academy Mhow carrying students severely hit a Maruti car on Mhow Mandeleshwar State highway. People present on the highway told that the school bus was moving with high speed. Two people travelling in the Maruti car number MPO9 CN 3809 were injured and were taken to the hospital in 108 and police vehicle dial 100 also reached at the point of accident.

Severe traffic jam was witnessed for more than 15 minutes. Colonel’s Academy CBSE school which is located in the outskirts of Mhow Tehsil has more than 20 buses and many of the buses travel for long distance of 25 kilometres in one way to bring children.

In the second half of January 2019 after the complaint of the local people the RTO department had raided the colonels academy and found many buses unfit the speed governor was removed from the GPS and CCTV cameras of the buses were not functional and the seats on which the students were sitting were movable wooden boards.

TI Kishanganj Karnisingh Shaktawat told The Pioneer that accident has happened but nobody came to police station for complaints so the case has not been registered.

Indore ARTO Hridesh Yadav told The Pioneer that we will issue notice to the Colonel’s Academy school and enquire about the fitness of the bus which met the accident we will also check the GPS and CCTV cameras details of the bus and the photographs of the bus which hit the car. In our earlier search in the Colonels Academy school we have found many buses unfit in this school and imposed fine and if again and again the same bus disobeys the fitness rules and guidelines of the supreme court and risks the life of the students we will terminate the permit of the school bus permanently.
