The 20-day workshop is being organised by Vihaan Drama Workers at Aurobindo School. During the workshop, the theatre aspirants are learning flamenco dance. Notably, the flamenco dance workshop is being conducted by a renowned dancer Marisol Valderemma.

It is noteworthy that Marisol Valderrama has her roots in the andalucian Cádiz, the mythical Spanish port which can also be called home town of the Arte Flamenco.

She started dancing flamenco at the age of five and received her real flamenco training from dancer Antonio Martinez. Here, her exceptional talent soon became clear and at a very young age already, she became part of his dancing company. With programmes such as “Yerma” and “Fuego” she visited some of the most important theatres in Belgium, France, Germany and Holland. In Spain, she apprenticed herself to such masters of flamenco dancing as Joaquin Grilo, Alejandro Granados, Javier la Torre, Adrian Galia, Manolete, Ana Cali, Chiqui de Jerez, Carmen Cortés and Belen Maya.

Step by step she created her own style and this was soon noticed in the world of dancing.

The aspirants will learn the art of flamenco dance till September 9. They will be acquainted with ballet, jaielo, and many more forms of flamenco dance.
