A tragic incident occurred in Neelbad on Tuesday evening, where a 5-year-old boy lost his life due to electrocution while washing his hands at a water-filled stone quarry. A broken electric wire had fallen into the quarry, leading to the fatal accident.

The incident took place in Barkheda-Nathu, near Millennium College. The deceased, identified as Ayush, son of Mangal Patel, had gone to the quarry with his sister to relieve himself. While washing his hands in the quarry water, he was electrocuted and collapsed unconscious. His sister raised an alarm, prompting locals to rush to the scene. Ayush was immediately taken to a hospital, where doctors declared him dead.

According to his father, the quarry belongs to Anil Prajapati, and nearby farmers use its water for irrigation. Water pumps are installed in the quarry for farming purposes, and at the time of the incident, one of the pumps was switched on. A damaged electric wire had fallen into the water, electrifying it. Ayush suffered severe burns on his chest after falling into the water.

Following a post-mortem examination, police handed over the body to the family on Wednesday morning. A case has been registered, and an investigation is underway to determine further liability.

Carpenter Found Dead in Suspected Suicide in Bhopal

In a separate incident, a 42-year-old carpenter, Vinod Vishwakarma, allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself from the ceiling at his residence in Subhash Colony, Bhopal, on Tuesday night.

Vinod, who had been living alone in Bhopal for eight years, was unmarried. His neighbors alerted the police, who found cooked food at the scene, along with a suicide note. However, the note was partially damaged due to water exposure, making its contents unclear.

It has been sent for expert analysis to determine the exact message.

Sub-Inspector Omkar Singh confirmed that the police have registered a case and launched an investigation. As of now, no clear motive has been established. The presence of a freshly prepared meal suggests that Vinod cooked and ate before taking the extreme step.
