The TT Nagar police nabbed five vehicle-lifters and recovered 18 two-wheelers and two cars from their possession on Wednesday.According to the police, the miscreants were nabbed while they were trying to sell four motorcycles at Dussehra ground in TT Nagar and when they were questioned they confessed that they were in possession of stolen vehicle and searching for buyers.
The nabbed gang members used to steal the vehicles from TT Nagar, Aishbagh, Govindpura, Misrod and Raisen areas. The nabbed miscreants were identified as Mukesh Rajat (23), Arjun lodhi (23), Hemant Keer (23), Mukesh Rajak (23) and Santosh Yadav (35). Except Santosh Yadav, all miscreants are residents of Raisen district.
Out of the 19 two-wheelers recovered the maximum number of motorbikes was stolen from TT Nagar area. The gang has targeted different parts of the city and the nearby areas.The miscreants would sell the motorbike at low rates in remote places. Police have started searching for the crime records of the five and have claimed that more vehicles would be recovered in the investigation.
The gang used to steal the vehicle and would park the vehicle at different parking spaces of the city and would later sell the vehicles at low rates and would again start the search to steal other vehicle. Number of vehicles disposed by the gang member would be investigated. Police suspects that the gang members are operating for long and have stolen many vehicles.
