Five minor boys were detained on Sunday by Gandhi Nagar police for sodomising a 12-year old boy. According to the police, on Friday night the five accused while on their way back home after working at a marriage function sodomized the victim and escaped the spot.
The accused and the victim work as daily wage labourers. On Friday they were working for a marriage procession in Parvaliya carrying lights and after the procession they were on their way back home when the crime was committed.
The accused are residents of Godermau in Gandhi Nagar area and to support their families and earn some money for their needs they used to work as labourers. All the accused are in the age group of 12-15 years.
Regarding the delay in filing a case against the accused, police said that the victim had not reported the incident as he was afraid of the accused. A case under sections 377, 511 and 34 was registered by the police against all the five accused minors. These minors would be kept at Juvenile Correction Home, which is located at Jehangirabad.
