Five persons who attacked their neighbour with sharp-edged weapons at Jhagariya village under Ratibad police station area late in the evening on Thursday were nabbed
by police.
According to the police, the victim Pramod Sharma of Jhagariya village was attacked by his neighbours after he objected passing lewd comments when his sister-in-law passed near their house.
The accused started to abuse and later attacked him. later a complaint was lodged with the Ratibad police.
The victim in his complaint stated that on Thursday evening Govind started to abuse him over old enmity and when he opposed the abusing Devkinandand attacked him with a iron rod and injured in him in his head and later he was attacked by Devesh, Anil, Govindprasad, Jaanki.
Based on the complaint after the preliminary investigation the police have registered a case under section 308 and 147 of the IPC against Govind Prasad, his brother Jankiprasad, nephew Devkinandan, Devesh and Anil and have started further investigation.
Police said that the victim has sustained multiple injuries and his condition is reportedly stable. The victim was undergoing treatment at a private hospital and was discharged
on Friday.
The nabbed miscreants do not hold any past crime record. They work as labour and would work at different farms in the village and nearby villages.
Police suspects that the reason of the attack would be searched as the reason provided are by the victim and his family and the accused are yet to be quizzed regarding the reason behind the attack.
