First International Prosthetics and Orthotics day was celebrated on Saturday at AIIMS Bhopal. During this event Executive Director AIIMS Bhopal Prof (Dr.) Ajai Singh inaugurated "Pediatric Orthotic Section" and "Prosthetic and Orthotic Museum" which would facilitate provision of Orthotic aids and appliances to the patients in MP region.
He also highlighted the department as one of its kind, which has many patient success stories which will motivate other patients who are having different locomotor disabilities.
He appreciated the concept of Prosthetic & Orthotic Museum and said this would help not only the students of different specialties but also the patients to understand the functioning of the devices.
A Video presentation of all the work done by the Prosthetic and Orthotic section of PMR dept was appreciated by all the faculties and staff members present during the event. The Director appreciated the efforts of Mrs. SmitaPathak, P& O technician and PMR dept in developing such facility at AIIMS Bhopal which is way ahead as compared to other new AIIMS at present.
He advised to keep up the pace and associate with other national organizations to facilitate the provision of high end Orthotic and Prosthetic aids to the needy patients. The event was coordinated by AnkitaWardnerkar.
Prof Dr Shikha Malik Pediatrics, Dr John Santoshi Orthopedics, Dr K KPandita Hospital Administration, and many senior Faculty and staff members were present in the event.
