Film maker Dipika Narayan coming up with documentary on crimes against women

Film maker Dipika Narayan Bharadwaj said that after horrible ‘Nirbhaya’ gang-rape case took place in the city of Delhi, consistently eyes on the increasing number of crimes against women has been kept to avert any such heinous act. She was here to promote her documentary film ‘India’s son’.

Various amendments were made to India's rape laws after this heinous incident, making the laws stricter and punishments more severe than ever. The testimony of the woman alone was enough to convert someone from an accused to a criminal, and the burden of proving herself innocent rested on the accused.

Although these laws are now causing a new serious problem that is rapidly pervading the country, which is affecting innocent men and women.

In July 2013, acquitting a 75-year-old man of rape charges, Additional Sessions Judge Virendra Bhat of a Delhi court observed that "mere statement of a woman that she has been raped is now taken to be irrefutable truth". and the accused is arrested and charge sheet is prepared against him.  Due to which the name of Delhi city has been tarnished as 'rape capital' or 'rape capital'.

In 2016, Justice Nivedita Anil Sharma observed, "The time has come to enact laws to protect and restore the dignity of men who have been accused of false rape charges, because at this point everyone is only seeking respect for women."

In another case a judge also raised the question, if rape victims are now often referred to as 'rape survivors' or 'rape survivors', can men honorably acquitted of false charges of rape be called 'rape case survivors'? ' or 'rape trial survivor'?
