Frustrated over fight with wife a 30-year-old man committed suicide by hanging from the ceiling at Mahuakheda village under Berasia police station area on Saturday.
According to the police on Saturday the victim Suresh Jatav had a fight with his wife Gita Bai during which she was beaten blue and white and tried to cut off her nose but she managed to escape and reach Berasia police station and informed about the incident.
When the victim’s wife returned home she was shocked to find that the victim has ended his life by committing suicide. Police were informed regarding the incident and after the preliminary investigation the body was sent for the post mortem.
The police have registered a case under section 174 of the CrPC and have started further investigation. Victim used to work as a driver and was an alcohol addict.
Investigation Officer ASI BS Khinchi said that Suresh was an alcohol addict to liquor and frequently beat his wife after consuming liquor. The incident took place after victim roughed his wife and tried to cut off her nose and afraid of the police action he committed suicide.
Other details of the victim are being searched by the police as any possibility of foul play cannot be ruled out as the victim might have been killed using the fight as cover. The post mortem report is awaited which will provide details of the death and could help in further investigation. The reason of fights between the couple would be investigated told the police.
